A couple years ago I picked up an awesome book called “The Happiness Project” by Gretchen Rubin, and fell in love with the great and pretty simple ways she walks you through how to have a happier life that will work out perfectly for you.

I tried to create my own happiness project, but then I fell behind. Then not long after, Rubin released “Happier at Home” and it became my new favorite book. At that time I was trying to find a more homey feel at my previous house. Who knew that pretty quick after that I would just decide to build Dream Home #1?

SO … while I patiently wait for her third book to be released, I read her daily emails and revisit the concepts she has walked us through in her books.

Last week I came across one of her older blog posts – “To Be Happier, Write Your Own Set of Personal Commandments“.

This idea ties in perfectly with YEAR OF 30 and creating the best year of my life. I’m still working on some areas of my life but I’m hoping this quick list will be a daily reminder of the person I want to be. In no particular order (and some borrowed from other commandment writers), my personal commandments:

  1. Be Lauren
  2. Don’t procrastinate
  3. Don’t worry
  4. Tell the truth
  5. Love
  6. Be grateful
  7. Let go
  8. Don’t over commit
  9. Trust
  10. No guilt
  11. Be authentic
  12. Pray

What are your personal commandments?
