One year I read 120 books. That’s 10 books a month! I’m pretty sure coming down from that high I went into shock and barely read 80 books the following year. It’s probably like any goal in life. The next year you want to top your goals from the previous year, make progress, do better. So each year, I’ve always set the goal to read 1 MORE book than the previous year.
It’s definitely been a roller coaster since I started keeping a reading journal:
- 2008 – 120 books read
- 2009 – 148 books read
- 2010 – 124 books read
- 2011 – 111 books read
- 2012 – 84 books read
- 2013 – 108 books read
Right now, in this moment, I’m at 79 BOOKS!
Hey people! I need to read more books. This bucket list item needs to get crossed of the list.
So … what are you reading? Here’s my current reading list:
- Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
- the remaining 5 Nancy Drew books I have
- Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire
- Lifeguard by James Patterson
- Alibi by Sandra Brown
And in case you’re curious, here’s how my monthly numbers have panned out:
- January – 12 books
- February 7 books
- March – 9 books
- April – 13 books
- May – 9 books
- June – 6 books
- July 10 books
- August – 4 books
- September – 5 books
This girl has some work to do!
