We’re almost halfway there … so that means it’s time for another survey on progress.
Mid-Event Survey:
1. What are you reading right now? I am about to start The Secret of Shadow Ranch by Carolyn Keene
2. How many books have you read so far? I just finished book number 5, Tarantula by Bob Dylan
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? I’m hoping to get to 3rd Degree by James Patterson and even Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote before the day is over
4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day? I made a point not to have plans. I am not going out with my girlfriends despite their arguments
5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? Not really, only one phone call, some text messages, but otherwise very quite (I live alone and have no kids)
6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? The progress I am making, and how quickly the time is passing
7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? So far so great, I wish some of the mini-challenges were shorter and less complicated, but I’m enjoying the time I get to read by not participating
8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year? As a reader, probably not much … I feel very prepared this time around
9. Are you getting tired yet? Yes, I almost fell asleep a couple times in the past couple hours – I think my last book wasn’t interesting enough
10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered? I chose easy books – children’s novels, graphic novels and poetry – so far which has been a success
