I saw that National Library week is coming up in April, and that led to some questions. How often do you use your public library and how do you use it? Has the coffeehouse/bookstore replaced the library? Did you go to the library as a child? Do you have any particular memories of the library? Do you like sleek, modern, active libraries or the older, darker, quiet, cozy libraries?
Answer: I am not a very avid library goer. I usually end up there multiple times per week based on books I have reserved and those returning. I also use the library as a movie rental store, and have recently been checking out movies and TV shows as well as books. I remember vaguely going to the library when I was younger, mainly the book mobile or the library branch out of the mall, but for years I didn’t go at all and last year decided it was about time I got back there and stop spending so much money on books I’ve never read. I like modern libraries, but my current library is older and more cozy and familiar. It’s filled with so much history. A new branch is opening near my house in the next couple months so I’ll be switching, but it may have a different feel to it.
