Pop Culture Junkie does a post at the end of every month about the movies watched. Since I too watch a lot of movies each month, I wanted to take a cue from this and share my own movie watching experience.
This month I watched:
- Undercover Brother – a silly film recommended by my uncle
- Little Children – second viewing, an amazing film
- Milk – ’09 Oscar nomination, great true story and journey of freedom and love
- Holy Smoke – strange story of a woman in a cult and her rescue
- Ratatouille – fun Pixar picture about a rat whose true calling is to be a chef
- RocknRolla – not as good as expected, very much a Guy Richie film, Gerard Butler is hot
- Titanic – a classic and epic, I love this story
- The Dutchess – great story of an arranged marriage that is nothing but complicated
- Mary Reilly – old Julia Roberts film about the maid to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
- Persepolis – animated film based on the non-fiction graphic novels, very informative film
- My Bloody Valentine 3-D – my first 3-D horror film, great twists and turns
- The Reader – my favorite film so far of 2009
- JFK – older film about the theories to the JFK assassination
- Moonstruck – not what I expected but an interesting combination with Nicolas Cage and Cher
- The Visitor – strange story about a man who finds an unknown couple living in his apartment
- The Insider – older Russell Crowe and Al Pacino story, very interesting
- Ant Bully – not my favorite animated, Julia Robert lends her voice, fun story
- Sopranos: Season 3 – it’s slowly starting to grow on me
- Lipstick Jungle: Season 2 – a nice ending to the season in preparation for a possible cancellation
- Fail Safe – a live taping for television about the fail safe program in the military
- Man on Wire – great story of the man who tight rope walked between the Twin Towers
- The Unborn – another scary film about devil possession, good scary movie
- American History X – first time watching, very disturbing but interesting to watch
- Knockaround Guys – another recommendation by family, alright film, not my usual style
- Mad Max – first time watching the Mel Gibson classic, great story
- Brown Sugar – fun romantic story about best friends who find love with everyone else but themselves
- Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon – amazing foreign film, everyone much try out once
- The English Patient – watching sure about this one but I ended up loving it, the intertwining stories made or a great film
- Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian – second in the series, very enjoyable and fun to watch
- Dexter: Season 2 – GREAT! one of my favorite new series
- Vanity Fair – not many good reviews but I happened to enjoy the story
- Legend of Bagger Vance – another good recommendation, love Charlize Theron
- Dead Man – a Johnny Depp black and white, very quiet film and interesting
- Evening – lovely story about the past and present and the decisions we make
- Secret Life of Bees – tear jerker about a runaway teenage girl and the new friends she makes
- Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 – another tear jerker, I love the series, can’t wait to read the books
- Bram Stoker’s Dracula – great adapatation with Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder and Gary Oldman
- Shark Tale – fun animated film with Will Smith, Angelina Jolie and Renee Zellweger
- Flashdance – a female Footloose, just not as good, but still fun to watch
- Tiptoes – a very strange film with Matthew McConaughey and Kate Beckinsale
