What led you to pick up this book? The buzz surrounding it after the Broadway adaptation came out.
Plot summary: A retelling of the story of The Wizard of Oz, but focused from the point of view of the Witch. Starting with the birth of the Wicked Witch of the West, through her childhood, schooling, adulthood and finally when she meets Dorothy and is killed. Very different point of view of the witch not seen in the film or original telling.
What did you think of the writing style? It was very different and hard to get into, but once I found his rhythm I was able to follow the story and enjoy the book more.
