What was the last book you bought?

I bought four from a new book club all at once which were:
Nights in Rodanthe, Dirty Secrets Club, Against Medical Advice, The Quickie, The Lucky One and My Sister’s Keeper,

Name a book you have read MORE than once

I’ve read the Texas! series by Sandra Brown a few times through.

Has a book ever fundamentally changed the way you see life? If yes, what was it?

After reading It’s Called a Breakup Because It’s Broken and He’s Just Not That Into You, I’ve had a different perspective on dating and understood why I’ve made some choices and why others have as well.

How do you choose a book? eg. by cover design and summary, recommendations or reviews

If I’m in a book store and browsing, I will choose a book I’ve never heard of before usually by the cover and then if the summary is of interest after that. Or if the title jumps out at me. Other times I have stacks of books recommended by friends or family that I have read because they enjoyed them. Most often, I choose a book because I am familiar with the author and want to read more of their works.

Do you prefer Fiction or Non-Fiction?

Fiction, but biographies and memoirs are growing on me more.

What’s more important in a novel – beautiful writing or a gripping plot?

A combination of both would be amazing but really it depends on my mood. A great writer will be able to write a gripping plot beautifully but more often than not the novels I enjoy the most are those with a gripping plot that I can’t put down. But when I want to read something slow and be forced to enjoy every single word, I’d rather have the beautiful writing.

Most loved/memorable character (character/book)

Lindsey Boxer and the Women’s Murder Club from James Patterson (1st-8th Series)

Which book or books can be found on your nightstand at the moment?

Currently I only have one which I am reading, Wicked, but pulled off the bookshelf to be read next are Two for the Dough, Cat and Mouse, and A Drink Before the War.

What was the last book you’ve read, and when was it?

The last book I read was The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes through Dailylit.com. I finished it Tuesday October 7, 2008.

Have you ever given up on a book half way in?

I have in the past, Wicked actually, but have since decided that every book needed to be read cover to cover. If I picked it up and started I had a reason too and I was determined to finish. Of course, if it’s taking me a long time I will pick up others along the way.
